GANDER OUTDOORS BRANDING

In 2017, Gander Mountain became Gander Outdoors under new ownership and, with that, had a complete rebranding. The new owner decided to hold a logo contest for the new business. I entered the contest and, unfortunately, did not win. But this is what I designed.

The first photo is the main logo design that I submitted for the competition. The idea behind this logo is for it to capture what Gander Outdoors is all about, to capture the beauty of the outdoors, and to do both in an eye catching way. It was designed to create a longing for the outdoors simply by looking at the logo. Whether you enjoy camping, hunting, fishing, or simply just being in the woods, this logo captures it all.

The secondary logo, in the second photo, is a simplified version of the main logo. It includes "GO" for "Gander Outdoors" as well as a statement of urgency to "go" get outdoors. You'll notice a goose below the "GO", which is there because of "Gander" Outdoors. There are two geese included in the main logo, as well. I designed this secondary logo to be used as the logo for Gander Outdoors' very own gear (GO Gear), but it may have also been used as the main logo.

The purpose of the logo variation sheet, in the third photo, is to show the logo in a variety of ways, including how it appears on a dark background or light background.

The remaining photos (Gander Outdoors Building Mockup, Gander Outdoors Store Ad, GO Gear Ad #1, and GO Gear Ad #2) are mockups to help get a visual of what the logos would look like out in the world and on their products.
