ARKANSAS TRAVELERS LOGO REDESIGN
In 2013, the Arkansas Travelers minor league baseball team went through a rebranding overhaul. As a fan of the team, I decided to redesign them. This was just a project I did in my spare time just to have fun and to try to get a little better at graphic design. This first photo is what I came up with as a redesign.
This photo shows a comparison between their logo (left) and my redesign of the logo (right). As you can see, I extended the nose and rounded the ear a little more. I also gave it a thick neck to express power. I tried to make the "A" a little more profound and added a bridle strap. I also tweaked the hair and eyes a bit by making those areas a little smoother and I went back to navy and red, the classic colors the travelers have had for years.
One thing I wanted to make sure to do in the redesign was to make the "A" consistent in both logos. I think they did a good job of matching the design of the "A" in their "A-Travs" logo with the style of the "A" of the Los Angeles Angels, the major league team they are affiliated with. So I tried to keep that same kind of style for the "A" in both logos. For comparison, the logos on top are my final designs and the logos on the bottom are the current logos of the Travelers.
